Creative Cheadle supports the Arts Festival

Creative Cheadle began back in 2016 when we created our very first yarn bomb in celebration of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. The group of volunteers has grown over the years enabling us to create much bigger creative displays for the community to enjoy. Our most recent and largest to date is the sunflowers currently on the High Street, designed to honour Dougie Macs 50th year.

Creative Cheadle was recently granted lottery funding that has enabled the group to bring cost-friendly crafty classes to the community, introducing a whole new group of people to new-found creative skills that many have put to great use with our community projects.

Look out for the Tape & Ribbon display around town that is being designed to support the theme of the Arts Festival - the Mills of Cheadle.

The crocheted sunflowers will stay in place until mid October when they will be replaced by the much loved poppy cascade on the Market Cross in the centre of town. Following Remembrance Sunday our Christmas displays will replace the poppies in time for Cheadle's Christmas lights event.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the stunning creative installations around town should pop in to see Dee in Tudor House on the High Street.
