Creative together

Painting with young family always seems like a good idea, but there are a million reasons why it doesn't happen on your own kitchen table. Parents have a To Do list and chores that need doing. The table is covered in so much stuff already. The paints are somewhere, who knows, probably dried up and don't even ask about paper and brushes. And then there's the mess that needs cleaning up afterwards. Plus, it would actually just be nicer to go out and about instead. So....

That's why we are running a series of opportunities for the community to paint. We have run three sessions so far and they have been fantastic. People of all ages have picked up a brush and for a little while have lost themselves in art. Children pick up a brush and just get going, but older people take more persuading and yet when they do, they absolutely love it. At Party in the Park we had a hilarious time getting Dads involved and you should have seen the smiles. It was particularly heartwarming to see how much the children enjoyed sharing an activity with their parents and grandparents.

Yesterday our volunteers ran a Creative Together session at the Library and it was lovely. People dropped in and stayed as long as they wanted. Some of the children took the opportunity to enter the Children's Art Competition that is currently running.

The next opportunity will be on Saturday 7th between 10 and 3pm at The Guild Hall. The paints will be out and there will be room full of artists and artworks to provide ideas and motivation. So please drop in and take part.
