Workshops last week

So far, so good with our Workshops! Cheadle Arts is enormously indebted to Thom, Charlie and Dan for volunteering their time and expertise this week to encourage more local people to express themselves creatively.

Writers Room

Thom Petty expertly led local writers in a workshop of reading and performing pieces plus a very thoughtful discussion about life as a writer. There was a mix of experience in the room but we were thrilled that everyone felt comfortable sharing their work, even though it was entirely optional. Assembled writers agreed that they were collectively uplifted and energised to write more.

Life Drawing

Charlie Walker warmly encouraged artists to sharpen their pencils and tackle the tricky subject of drawing the human form working with a live model. Some attendees had not tried this art form before, others were very experienced. Local actor Dan Edes, as seen in various CATS performances, volunteered to pose for the group and was very patient as his face was closely scrutinised and every muscle in his torso was considered from all angles. Thanks to Dan and the group for agreeing to share images of their work here.
